Wearable Wood!

Ok, we all know that I am a sucker for pretty, shiny things...I may be part crow because I can be cruising along through my day and something shiny catches my eye and all of a sudden there is nothing more important than checking it out! Recently, though, I have found something new that catches my eye...Wood!

Janelle has been an amazing member of the HandmadeArtistsForum almost from the beginning and is a huge supporter of handmade. She loves to work with beads and crystals, but recently found a new love for working with exotic woods...and the results are amazing! She begins with raw wood with lush names like Purpleheart, Tulipwood rosewood, and Kingswood rosewood. She cuts and shapes them into interesting shapes and even bangle bracelets and then sands and finishes them until they shine! I'm not kidding! These treasures almost seem to glow from within!

Got you drooling yet? Her work can be seen, and purchased, through her Etsy shop or her brand new HandmadeArtistsShop. If you want to delve a bit deeper into her other intersts, check out her blog where Jan features not only her own work, but the work of other hand made artists.

I am amazed by the variety of goodies you can find in Jan's shop.
My favorite is the exotic woods, but she has something for everyone.
Nice post.
